Our Two Newest Farm (& Family!) Additions

 By: Erin

Several weeks ago, a predator tried to kill our guineas.  We had gone out in the morning and saw a lot of feathers, but thankfully, all the guineas were accounted for.  One of our Australian Shepherds, Rosie, is fourteen and getting old, so we decided it was time to get another guard dog.  As we began searching for a German Shepherd, we saw how difficult it was to find one in our area for a good price, so we decided to start raising German Shepherds.  Chief (for Chief Justice) came first, and Jewel joined him about a week ago.  They are learning the importance of being good farm dogs (which includes not chasing baby goats and chickens and realizing that rabbits are not a fluffy toy!) and therapy animals (we're taking them to the nursing home).

Chief is the most energetic and playful of the two.  He has boundless energy!  He also loves to be around us and the other animals.

Jewel, on the other hand, is a little calmer.  She and Chief enjoy playing together a lot!  Her favorite animal on the farm is Cloud.

We're really excited to see them grow up, and we know that they'll be great additions!
