Winter Days

By: Erin

Winter has always been one of  my favorite times of the year.  Between the cooler weather that reminds us the intense summer heat won't last forever, and the chance of getting some snow makes it a wonderful season.  These pictures show what we've been doing this past winter!

Joseph helping me make a batch of Peppermint Fudge.

Isaac and Luke went on a business trip to Kansas.  Since they were away, Mom, Morgan, Benjamin, Joseph, and I went shopping together and had lunch out.

Recently, we had so much rain (and still are!) that I could kayak in one of the puddles!

We had a Christmas concert at a nursing home nearby.  It's always a blessing to play together and bless others.

A project under the house!

Another Christmas ministry!

My birthday!
Two adorable little baby rabbits.
A frost-covered morning--the closest thing we typically get to snow!!
Luke giving the dogs raw chicken--something they really love!

Our newest farm tool!  Since moving out to our new property, we've been needing to get some farm equipment and this has already been a huge help!

Test driving!

Mom and I worked together on getting this swinging chair assembled.
The finished (and very comfortable!) project!

Morgan, Isaac, Luke, and I volunteered for the Compassion ExperienceIt allows people to step into the life of children who live in third-world countries.  We really enjoyed spending time together doing this.

Benjamin and Joseph in the experience.
We've had some cold days recently!  Benjamin found the dogs' water bowl iced over!
Isaac's new guitar!

Attending a friend's 90th birthday party!

A beautiful sunrise over our farm!

All the plants think it is spring!  Hopefully it won't get too cold again.

We love you!
Thank you for providing for us and for all you have done for us!  We pray you have a wonderful day!

Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary

By: Erin

Over the past few years, we have heard a lot about Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, especially the BLT (Bear, Lion, & Tiger) that lived together for most of their lives after being rescued (the bear is the only one still alive).  We had been wanting to go for awhile, so we finally made the trip and met up with an uncle and aunt who had already visited there previously.  It was amazing to see all the rescued animals, and how the zoo keepers are able to take care of all of them and spend time with them each day.  They have hundreds of different animals like birds, lions, tigers, alligators, cows, pigs, horses, donkeys, zebras, monkeys, and many more.

The peacocks were the first animals we saw when we arrived.  They roam all over the sanctuary grounds.

This unique animal is a Cavy.

I was shooting the pictures through two sets fences, so that's why there are blurry lines in them!

This is Baloo, the last one left of the BLT.  He was dozing when we first saw him, but later got up.

These Silver Foxes were so pretty!

Most of the horses are in an enormous pasture (80 acres), so this is the only one we saw.

yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"
