Bound for New England - Connecticut

By: Erin

The Lord blessed us with the opportunity to travel an extra long distance this year to the north to visit family and history rich sites across New England.  Throughout our time, we were able to visit Plymouth Plantation, Boston, Lexington, and Concord.  While driving up we stopped along the way to visit with family in Connecticut and on the way back we stopped in Virginia to minister at a nursing home our grandmother used to visit.  Throughout our trip we traveled through Georgia, South & North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, a total of 38+ hours driving.  The Lord was again so gracious to give us safe travelling, which we are very grateful for.  We are also so thankful for our family who allowed us to stay at their homes and the many friends (and strangers!) who helped us out along the way.

The drive up was beautiful, especially due to the changing tree colors.

The Pennsylvania patch-work farmland.

After arriving in Connecticut at noon to see our wonderful aunts and uncles (and one cousin was able to make it!), we had lunch and then went on a walk around the lake.

Photographic opportunities always abound in fall!

Surprisingly, there were still many flowers in bloom.

Watching the sunset on the lake.

The next day we went on a short hike.  Unfortunately, when we reached the top,
it was totally foggy, although that was very pretty as well.

After the hike, we went to a beautiful waterfall.

When we got back to the lake, it was still foggy, so there was no chance of seeing another sunset!

Isaac went out fishing, but after paddling out to the boat in a kayak, he realized he didn't have the key!  Thus, he proceeded to paddle it over to the dock and finally got the key!

"Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary:
praise him in the firmament of his power."
(Psalm 150:1)
